Your Assignment

Acts 1:1-11   ......In my former book, Theophillus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.  After His suffering, he showed Himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.  He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.  On one occasion, while He was eating with them, He gave them this command:  "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard Me speak about.  For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.".....continue to read through verse 11

With every step that you take in the kingdom, there is a constant force coming against you.  But we are more than able to conquer the kingdom of the enemy.  In fact, your Commander-in-Chief (God Almighty) has given you orders to GO!  Whatever we do will take effort and we will have to go through "some stuff" in life.  But God.....His presence is WITH US!  His potential is on the inside of us!

Our orders or assignment:

Recognize that you have a job to do!  We need to GO out into the world instead of retreating to the church.  The only way we can truly be fulfilled in life is to fulfill the assignment that God has given us!  Our assignment is to reach the world and advance the kingdom of God!  Not to create the will of God, but to discover the will of God.   This involves being willing to go beyond ourselves.  It's not about our comfort.  It is about having the courage to go after the callings in our lives!  *Do we really believe that God has given us the command to reach the world?  Are we willing to pay whatever the cost, to reach the lost?

Realize that you have the power of God in your life!   Waiting on God brings power in your life. (Luke 4:18)  It is important to spend time in His presence; getting a greater vision of Jesus in our lives.  You can be saved and not have a connection with God.  If we do not have the power of God in our lives, then we come against the kingdom of darkness with our own abilities.   The result is failure.  Every believer has passion on the inside to reach out to people.  The Holy Spirit comes upon us and empowers us to be a witness!  The Holy Spirit on us is not for us, but for others!   Your overflow is always for someone else!   You see, God wants to use YOU!  (Matthew 11:12,  Romans 12:21)

The results are in the hands of God!  Our part is to follow His kingdom and His voice.  Our work is an "everywhere" kind of work.  (read Acts 8....those who been scattered preached the Word wherever they went....)  We need to be have fruitfulness in the kingdom of God.  It's time to "go fishing!"

Jesus is coming back!  God is with us!  The "all things are possible" God!  Reaching the world and fulfilling His assignment is within our reach!  That's should excite us!  What is your enthusiasm to do what He has called you to do?  *Remember, God is faithful!  Are we living our lives as if He is coming back?
