Many times life leaves us with more questions than answers. One thing is for sure....we will NEVER have all the answers to our questions. So, it is important for us to learn how to deal with the "whys" of life while still trusting and following after God. When we don't control our questions, they turn into doubts or roadblocks. That in turn becomes very dangerous to our spiritual growth.
Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. God likes it when you ask questions and you want UNDERSTANDING, while still trusting Him. He wants to teach us, to reveal Himself to us.
There are 3 steps to help us in the process with the "whys" in life:
Establish your starting point!
You must have God's Word as a foundation to build from. (John 17:17) Sometimes it takes time for God to get us to a place where He can answer. It takes us time to understand the answers in life------from God! (John 7:17) The Bible's purpose is not to answer all the questions in life, but to reveal a loving God who wants to redeem mankind forever. (John 20:30,32 John 21:25) The enemy brings deception, but our GREAT GOD brings truth!
Do what you already know to do!
It is the doer of the Word that is blessed not just the hearer. Make sure that you are doing ALL that you know to do. Get into the Word, pray, forgive and love one another. God continually prepares us for the questions in life. (James 1:22-23 Matthew 21:27) What "why" question have you allowed to stop you from growing in the Lord? In order for God to reveal things to us, we MUST TRUST Him!
Determine your destination!
Where do you want to "end up"? Stay focused on His Word, following after and pursuing Him in life. (Jeremiah 29:13) Are you really seeking God with all of my heart? It is far more important to follow after the Lord that to have all the answers. If we are not careful, our destination becomes a "me" myself" and "I" destination. Sometimes we just need to "GIVE IT A REST" Stop thinking about it and trying so hard to figure it out! Stop trying and start thanking Him for the awesome God that He is!
