What are you thinking on today?

Verse of the Week: Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Today's Reference:  Luke 19:1-10  The story of Zacchaeus the Tax Collector

Did you know.....

There is a definite connection between your thinking and your spiritual walk with God?  To enter into the kingdom of God, we must "unload" our burdens.  For many of us that is difficult.  We are independent, self sufficient, and self reliant.  That is why it is hard to enter the kingdom of God; to give everything to Him.  It really is:

1. An issue of pride...Make sure you never trust in yourself.  We all need the Father's help in every area of our lives.

2. A false sense of security...Many times we feel we have everything thought out, planned for and organized.  But there will come a time when you realize that you may not have everything covered as you thought.

3. False sense of righteousness...Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus.  In fact, he wanted to see Him so much that he climbed out onto a limb.  He was open to what God wanted to do.  Spending time with God allows our hearts and thinking to be changed.

To clear our thinking and change our hearts, we must:

- Be open to the INITIATIVE of God.  Realize that God is pursuing YOU!  He wants a relationship with you.  Be open to what He wants to do in your life.  Zacchaeus risked much to see Jesus.  Are you comfortable playing it safe in your walk with God?  It's time to get risky and step out with childlike faith and courage to do all that God desires us to do.  When was the last time you stepped out of the pew and did something to get the attention of God?

- Believe that God LOVES all people.  God's love is unconditional.  When you seek Him with all your heart You will find Him!  There is more to God than what we have discovered.  Jesus stopped for Zacchaeus because of the hunger of his heart.  Zacchaeus had everything in the natural, but nothing that he really wanted.  When we give control to Jesus, we have real control in our lives.

- Never give up HOPE in God.  No matter how long you wait, you must never give up hope.  Are you looking at the coming year with hope?  Or are you looking at this year waiting to fail?  The choice is ours.  Putting your hope in God gives real success and victory!

It's time to change our thinking......start today by renewing your mind with the Word of God!
