Verse of the Week: Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praises to God.
Thinking clearly/Biblically about relationships means:
- You thank God for our differences---You cannot change other people. We need diversity in order to grow into what God wants for us. We don't have to be just like each other. Yes we have the same Father, but He created each of us differently!
- You go to God with your disappointments---Love believes that God is at work and looks for the good in others. Many times we expect people to meet needs in us that only God can meet. Love endures through every situation and circumstance.
- You trust God with your feelings---Ps. 62:8 Trust God with your time. Tell him all your problems because God is our protection. Love decides to do the right thing no matter how you may feel. Love looks beyond the problems to God's ability to love through us. When we act in love, the feelings of love follow.
- You ask God for His direction---He wants to give you wisdom in your relationships. Ask God how to be a good wife, husband, friend, etc. It's okay to go to Godly people for Godly advice and direction in your life.
- You look to Jesus as your example---Eph. 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you. In all things and in all ways follow after Jesus' example. You will never be led astray.
