| Today's Scripture: 1 Corinthians 4:8-21 (NIV)
In this particular portion of scripture, Paul is contrasting himself with the church of Corinth. He says, beginning in verse 9,
".....We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men. We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored."
We are to be FOOLS for Christ! Real spectacles for Jesus! We should be making a scene where ever we go, ALWAYS acting like Christ! You see a performer steps on and off of the stage, in and out of character. But you, as a believer, need to realize that you are always on the "stage" in life. You are always going to be watched by someone. (people, other Christians, evil spirits, angels, heaven and hell) We are to be a spectacle of God's goodness and grace to the world around you! The world is looking for genuine people. Are they seeing that in you? Every challenge that comes our way is an opportunity for the world to see God working in our lives. You see, your relationship with God is not of a "private" nature. It is to be shared with others!
Our Lives...
- Should be radically different from that of the world! We, as believer's, should be acting and talking different. After all, there is no connection between darkness and light. What holds us back from becoming all that God desires us to be? PRIDE! That truly is one of the greatest hindrances in our lives! Understand that where ever you are going in life is far more important than where we are right now!
Our Life.....
- Is observed by the world! Live like Jesus all the time! Be consistent in your lifestyle. Be genuine in your faithfulness! God wants us to go out and "make a scene"! Everywhere you and I go, there is liberty! Why? Because where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty! And we have the very Spirit of the living God on the inside of us!
- Is opposite of the world! If we would "break out" God would be able to get more "stuff out" in our lives! How foolish are you willing to be for Christ? Are you willing to serve God regardless?
Who is the real fool????
The one who is living for Christ or the one who is living for the world?
