Today's Scripture..........
"My food," said Jesus, " is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work. Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying 'One sows and another reaps' is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor." John 4:34 – 36 (NIV)
The Everyday Missionary:
- Procrastination - The harvest is NOW! There is unlimited possibilities and opportunities right around us! We must find a way to reach people for Jesus! Don't look for excuses and reasons to "do it later". People may not have that much time. It's time to step out of our comfort circles and into the unknown zone! We need a "NOW VISION" not a "Procrastination Vision". Lives are depending on us!
Realization - Sometimes our "inner" perception and be a "deception" in our lives. We listen to the voice that says, "no one wants to hear the message, what can little ol' me do, I could never lead someone to the Lord, I don't really know the Bible that well....etc". The reality is, EVERYONE needs Jesus and EVERYONE'S life will be better with Jesus! God can use you to reach the harvest! God's presence is with us and there is an abundance of harvest around us! We need a Holy Spirit flow and not just a formula!
Determination - Harvesting is hard work! The good news is that it is not complicated. Don't become lazy in your salvation. Sometimes we consume so much and then we fail to do the work of the evangelists. (Prov. 10:5) It will take ALL of us to reach the world!
Anticipation - "He that labors, gathers wages". There should be an anticipation of the reward------another person spending eternity with the Father! Heaven rejoices when someone comes into the Kingdom of God! There is JOY in the harvest that is brought in! Are you anticipating people being brought into the Kingdom? Do you see yourself as a part of that?
What can you do TODAY to step out of your comfort circle and into the unknown zone? There is a great harvest....let's go after it!
